United ISD eighth grade students enroll in a program called Career Investigation.

Career Investigation classes benefited from the "Project Connect"  grant awarded by the Texas Infrastructure Fund.  This $678,000 grant enabled United ISD to expand infrastructure and Internet connectivity to the middle school Career Investigation classes.  Teachers received 15 computers, an Eiki projector, and Internet access to use for on-line college/career exploration.
Students also participate in a program called The Real Game.  In this simulation, students explore adult realities such as taxes, living expenses, workplace environments and unexpected emergencies.  Students will learn to budget time and money and recognize the value of a balanced lifestyle, community involvement and lifelong learning.
